After watching his team complete its final preseason workout in shorts and jerseys on Saturday morning, Texas State head coach Brad Wright was quite pleased with the progress his team has made heading into next week’s season-opening game at Houston.

The Cats are looking much improved on the defensive side. They have big guys up front, solid linebackers and a very speedy secondary. This defense is looking like the 2005 team but faster in the secondary.
