With the AFCA convention beginning this week in Dallas, this interesting story from the Dallas Morning News: a survey of 95 high school coaches in Texas found the average salary for a head coach is $82,179 and three make over $100,000.

How many college coaches will be bringing this article back home from the covnention?

With the new deal that Pete Richardson got at Southern, the unheard of money Georgia Southern threw at Van Gorder and the contract Pete Lembo got to move from Lehigh to Elon, the arms at I-AA seems to be rolling fast and furious. $200,000 a year and up seems to be the going rate for good I-AA coaches.

As a high school teacher I can't stand the fact that many head coaches in high school make more the teachers (if that's their only duty.)

It will be interesting to see the bottom line in Jerry Moore's new contract.

That figure would be similar to a lot of the better I-AA schools. A decade ago, coordinators I knew were making $50-60,000.

Well in Louisiana, with the exception of Grambling and Southern, 1-aa head coaches make around $90,000.

If it gets back that Van Gorder at Georgia Southern is making over $400K, the price of poker may go up for your coaches.

Getting and keeping quality coaches will now cost a University plenty of money.

He deserves every dime he can get. I say take some from Fancher's contract. Geez, the game on FOX looks like a women's game crowd. How far we've come since Buzz. Er gone, rather.

It's halftime at the ASU-WCU basketball game and CSS is interviewing Jason Hunter and Marques Murrell with the I-AA championship trophy. The students (of which there is a good crowd) went nuts when Hunter held up the trophy for them.
