The FGCU athletic director covers numerous topics - from who they would play, to where they would play and where the school currently is in the football feasibility process...


Really at that point it’s just a matter of letting the process take its normal course and determining what everything with football would mean with FGCU.

Will it mean that we’ll add the sport? We don’t know. I think the first and most important aspect is to cleanly do the study to find out all the ramifications of adding football — positive as well as the responsibility from a financial standpoint and in term state of Florida Title IX gender equity, because when you add a sport like football which, at this point, still basically male student athletes, you have to offset it with the women side of the equation.

So he thinks " So there are a number of schools that probably 80 or 90 of them that fit into that category of Division I but they don’t have scholarships." ? Still on the learning curve.

Also like how Iowa St. is an FCS type team.
