Alouettes training camp can be tough for rookies, but Tim Maypray knows how to produce on the field after a stellar collegiate career in the United States.

During his four seasons at Virginia Military Institute, Tim Maypray played quarterback, running back, was a receiver and returned punts and kickoffs -while also obtaining a degree in psychology.
He didn't, however, go both ways on the field, also playing defence. So there.
"I joked with my coaches to let me play defence, but haven't played there since high school," Maypray said after the Alouettes' training camp workout yesterday at Bishop's University. "I have to give a lot of credit to my coaches for putting me in different positions. I learned as much as I could and went hard and fast."
For his next trick, the 5-foot-8, 170-pounder is attempting to crack the Alouettes roster. He survived the first week of camp, scored Montreal's only touchdown in last Sunday's exhibition loss at Winnipeg, and remains one of several players in the mix to replace Larry Taylor as the team's return specialist.
