With that schedule and all those transfers you guys picked up, I could see UMass making some waves in the CAA next year.

Don't feel too bad, JMU had the most difficult schedule in FCS in 2008 and did pretty well for themselves.

Not unless we get a lot better play at QB.

So Nova misses UMass.

Either Richmond or W&M misses Towson...wonder who the big winner is.

Wouldn't all the south teams play each other?

I'd think they'd miss a north team.

No. If we assume all the old north still plays each other, that means two south teams won't play each other.

They likely won't break up UR/WM. One of them will have to miss Towson.

Put another way:

We know each CAA team will miss just one CAA team this year.

Each of the four North teams will miss one of the six south teams....that leaves two extra south teams.

So JMU lost on the Rhode Island schedule sweepstakes. Ouch.

And it's down to UD, Richmond and W&M in the Towson schedule sweepstakes.

According to BillyMac on the W&M Board, we miss Maine.

That just leaves UNH, Richmond, Towson and Delaware left.

Eh, Umass finished 5-6/3-5, and they lost about a doz starters, majority of whom made All CAA (from 1st to 3rd team), including 2 AAs (Miles and Ducasse). UMass probably won't be any better, maybe even worse.

The 2 teams from the North I would want to play the least would be Maine and UNH.

Towson won @ URI 36-28 and has a lot more coming back. URI will be the worst team in the CAA next season. Therefore whoever doesn't get to play them will have the toughest CAA schedule.

It'll almost be like having a true conference champion having played almost everyone else. :D

Plus it makes almost certain the CAA doesn't get 5 teams in. If it was still 16 teams in the field, they might have had only 3 teams.

With 10 at-large. 5 from the CAA is a distinct possibility. Remember, they're looking for the ten best teams to complete the field. If four are from the CAA, no one will be surprised.

xeyebrowx UMass was 5-5 with Hofstra in the last ten and finished their series on a losing note.
