If I am a high school QB looking for a program New Hampshire is looking better every day. Why? No history of accepting FBS transfers.....a QB focused offense (Oregon's offense started here).....NCAA playoffs every year......CAA competition.....a dedicated coaching staff......Toman graduates.....Ricky Santos played here. Hope we find a future POY in this class! xsmiley_wixxsmileyclapxxthumbsupx

......and a good recent history vs. 1-A teamsxnodx........just need a front-burner plan to expand the stadium (to 16,000- 18,000).

In all honesty, is there any demand to increase the stadium to that size??

Hopefully next month UNH announces a plan that gets us renovations 1st then expansion. UNH can easily get to 10-12000 with fullsize stadium bleachers on the visitors side. I'd put the students and band there just to greet our caa south teams!xhurrayx

Towson moved the Band and student section right behind the visiting team this past year. xnodx

Why don't we have a history of attracting transfers? I was surprised we didn't get any Northeastern of Hofstra players. UMASS seemed to get a few from each school and is always landing Big East transfers. Is this McDonnell's decision or just no interest from players?

You forgot to mention the ugly girls at UNH. That may cause him to look somewhere else.

Well, great college QB, remains to be seen if he'll ever amount to a decent pro QB. Michael Bishop is the QB incumbent up in Winnipeg and Santos can't get around him on the depth chart and it's not like Bishop is a top CFL QB, let alone an NFL QB.

Being a recent grad I would like to disagree with that statement.

Former Pats cheerleader and current Celtics dancer Alison Preston begs to differ

yeah Alison Preston is smokin hot! Shes actually from Bedford, NH. I know someone who went to school with her. Anyway, sounds like we need a QB recruit this year or next because we only have 2 on the roster right now.

As a guy who grew up on the Delaware border and now lives in NH I can tell you...NH is WAY nicer in almost every conceiveble regard...unless you like pharmaceutical and chemical companies in which case Delaware wins.

Next month?

The President is announcing UNH's new Strategic Plan (http://www.unh.edu/strategicplanning/122209.html) on February 2nd.... It might be a pipe dream, but maybe this announcement will include something about stadium improvements??

You haven't been in the area for a while, I guess. There aren't a whole lot of those left in DE anymore. They went the way of the credit card banks & the auto manufacturers.xsmhx

Looks like it will be an open competition (as it should be) in Durham this Spring...http://blogs.unionleader.com/tracking-the-wildcats/?p=419

Also of note is that two of the quarterbacks have left the team (Vick and Welch)

Believe me when I tell you that NHU needs more than a renovated stadium. I have been to that sub-high school facility several times. It amazes me that NHU has the quality football program it does with such poor facilities for the sport.

And, as for moving up, the only legitmate level program recognized by most fans, be it right or wrong, is D1A so NHU should strive for this level of ball. Just look what it has done for UConn in a very short period of time. Who would have thought ten years ago that UComm would play Notre Dame on national tv and beat them! Hell, even in the outstanding CAA UComm wouldn't have received such attention nationally. NHU need to step up!

I'm not sure who or where this NHU you speak of is, but I wish them luck in their move to "D1A".
