Last year I got the Richmond game on just some random, local channel. I'm hoping that that will be the case this year.

I thought the entire state of North Carolina was carved up for the Nationals/Orioles...I know my in-laws get it in the Outer Banks.

I guess at some point, it shifts over to the Braves and you probably get SportsSouth instead.

if youve got cable, Fox Sports South covers a lot of the Nationals and Orioles games. Most NC cable networks have SportSouth and FSS now, but not MASN

The NCAA and ESPN have announced that Saturday’s ESPN-produced broadcast of the NCAA Division I Football Championship quarterfinal between Appalachian State University and Richmond will be carried locally on MTN 18 in Boone and regionally on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN). Kickoff between No. 5 Appalachian (10-2) and fourth-seeded Richmond (11-1) is set for 7 p.m. at UR Stadium in Richmond, Va.

MTN 18 is available in homes throughout the High Country while MASN’s footprint covers a seven-state area from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. For fans outside of the MTN or MASN viewing areas, the broadcast will be carried nationally as part of the ESPN GamePlan pay-per-view package as well as streamed online at ESPN360.com. Check with your cable, satellite and/or internet service providers for availability of ESPN GamePlan and ESPN360.com in your area.

Justin Kutcher (play-by-play) and Doug Chapman (analyst) will call all of the action for the television broadcast.

I'm glad to hear this news! I was just questioning this because the MASN website and my DirecTV on screen guide are the same and neither one has the FCS Playoff games listed. It's possible they may put the games on MASN2 which is utilized sometimes when the Orioles and Nationals are on at the same time. We'll see what happens on Saturday. I'm super excited to see both of these games!

MASN carried that ASU v. ECU game and I must say MASN is rather crappy. They barely had the score on the screen and they didn't get the game clock up on the screen until after half time. And forget about having the downand and yards to go. Maybe they've improved upon it but either way...its better than nothing.

You know... as much grief as we give ESPN for not covering FCS football, MASN has been very good to us! We write nasty emails to ESPN complaining... I think I'm going to write MASN a nice email thanking them for covering what should be covered.

Surprised that ESPN has the rights but are allowing MASN to broadcast. That should greatly reduce the # of fans buying ESPN Gameplan.

I wonder if MASN is still sending a truck to Liberty or if theyre using Liberty's equipment for the tape delay. Liberty's is better anyway.
