Good info! But to be clear, UR is not trying to stop App Nation. Everyone faces the same city restrictions. CITY restrictions. Looking forward to having a great time with your fans then watching a great game! xthumbsupx

Understood completely. Can't wait until game time!

So, just to clarify. These parking lots don't open at all until 3 hours prior to the game or you just can't perform "tailgating activities"? Is just parking our car more than 3 hours prior to the game acceptable in these designated lots?

They don't open the lots until 3 hours before the game. There will be a line around the block until 4pm when they open them up.

OK, thanks. So we'll get there early to wait in line for the lots. That's what I was expecting.

why will they not open till 4?

and is there a better place to park than these "lots", or somewhere we can park earlier?

thanks

Stadium's on city-owned property, etc etc. Those are the rules.

You can park anywhere you want in the City of Richmond earlier - whether or not you can tailgate there is a whole other story.

The stadium is a few miles from the heart of downtown. You wouldn't want to park downtown if you're coming to the game. The stadium is just a few blocks from Carytown, a stretch of shops and restaurants with a few parking garages mixed in. You can park there if you want, but you wouldn't want to (or probably be able to) tailgate there.

I would only recommend parking in Carytown if you're not tailgating. If you're tailgating, just wait for the stadium lots to open.

If you want to tailgate near the stadium, I would shoot for those lots. And they really are closed up until 3 hours before the game.

If you don't plan on tailgating. Park near Carytown, hit up some bars/restaurants and walk on over to the game when ever you feel like it. The stadium is about 4 or 5 blocks from Carytown.
