Hah, almost as many first place votes as the other two combined. Probably don't see something like that often

Never knew that a team could get more first place votes and still not get the #1 ranking that week.

Great question. SDSU is a hard team to figure out. One minute they look like world beaters and the next...

I'm a little surprised they dropped below UNI. They are still 7-2 while UNI is 6-3, and SDSU won the head to head. It shouldn't be that big of a black mark to lose to a top 4 team at home. Does a loss to Minnesota put them on the bubble for the play-offs even with a final week win. They would be 8-3 and a clear 2nd place in the Valley. That loss to Cal-Poly isn't looking so good right now.

Go figure! The Jackrabbits lost to Cal Poly 14-21 earlier in the season.

It is grossly unjust, however, for pollsters to rank SDSU below UNI so soon after having beat the Panthers 24-14, especially since Northern Iowa has not a single top 25 victory.

Yes, but at least the Jackrabbits have a quality top 25 win. The Panthers have none.

Note that I said I was surprised that UNI passed SDSU. I don't think we should have.

And while we don't have a top 25 win, we also don't have a bad loss. If we make the play-offs, I'm pretty sure whomever we get matched up with won't be 'thrilled' about the match-up.

The next time a top CAA team needs a last second FG to beat Northeastern, we should have a pretty good gauge to compare. xthumbsupx

I don't have a problem with teams jumping Montana at this point, the top 4 are all awfully close to one another right now. If the standards by which people used to jump Villanova and SIU over Montana were strictly that UM played a bad game against a terrible team then I would be upset, but SIU clubbed an SDSU team that everyone was pretty high on and Villanova beat the previously undefeated #1 ranked, defending national champions. Some fluidity does need to happen in polls, even late in the season.

if montana got to play the nec, patroit, meac, for their first round like the caa does EVERY year we could pad our winning record also!

How do you fall behind a team you beat (UNI) after losing to a team they also lost to, a team that is now #1?

Crazy.

Cal Poly getting more votes than any other GWC member, and yet with a loss next week they will finish last in conference. Umm, can't figure out TSN voting here. And the winner of the UCD-UND game will be conference champs. Cal Poly has no shot at being conference champ and has a losing record. UCD and UND are getting much less respect than Poly. I am not talking about being ranked, just what the h*** are TSN voters seeing that I do not?

I had them as my furthest falling team in 2009, and despite JMU's best efforts, I'd say they're taking the cake this year.

No, it's because we've never played anyone from half of the FCS conferences so we get confused as to who is where xlolx

For example, Norfolk State. MEAC? NEC? SWAC? OVC? Pioneer? Who knows!
