Interesting... Pards are ranked higher than when recieving an at-large a few years ago. I guess our Liberty game counts for something... no HC or Gate due to their schedules I assume.

So, following the pattern people use with other polls...

4. S Illinois (4.50) (MVFC Champ)
5. William & Mary (4.63) (At-Large #2)
6. Northern Iowa (5.75) (At-Large #3)
7. Jacksonville St (9.25) (Ineligible, which is sad.)
8. New Hampshire (10.00) (At-Large #4)
9. Elon (10.50) (SoCon Champ)
10. S Dakota St (11.25) (At-Large #5)
11. Massachusetts (12.50) (At-Large #6)
12. Delaware (12.75) (At-Large #7)

13T. S Carolina St (13.50) (MEAC Champ)
15. N Arizona (15.88) (At-Large #8)
16. Weber St (16.25) (Bubble #1)
17. Cal Poly SLO (18.75) (Bubble #2)
18. Appalachian St (20.50) (Bubble #3)
19. McNeese St (21.25) (Bubble #4)

Northern Arizona already has 2 loses. If they lose one more, gpi or not, the committee will select App. State, if they handle their business.

so, as a FCS newbie.....does Davis have any chance if we win out, or are we still a year away from a realistic at-large berth? Most of the polls have us as an "other," if we're lucky, but GPI (and the conferences GPI) give me hope....

Yes we already have two losses but those losses are to Arizona who is receiving votes in FBS polls and #2 FCS Montana in OT. Not bad losses I would say. We will lose one more to Ole Miss on Nov 7 but if we take care of business the rest of the way in the big sky we will end up with a 8-3 record with losses to two FBS schools and Montana. Not a bad resume. I think we would have to lose one more game besides the ole miss game to be completely out of playoff contention.

I wonder if a school with a tight athletic budget like let's say, Lafayette, would view a trip to Montana as exorbitantly expensive and pass on the playoffs? Especially if there is some miracle and we have to keep travelling after two road games... same for HC, Gate, or any small school for that matter.

I predict the committee makes allowances and we see a PL/Nova matchup

I don't know why the rest of you bother. The Committee should just have the CAA champ play the Big Sky champ and save everybody a lot of travel costs. xrolleyesx

It's likely written in stone. I gaurantee we will see a Pards/Gate at Nova, HC/Gate at UNH/UMass. Maybe Delaware if the Hens start to roll.

Doubtful, you would need to get to the semi's to see Montana. The CAA or Southern usually gets a Patriot team in the 1st round in the east bracket. Montana gets a MVC or Southland most years in the 1st round of the west bracket, and then a Big Sky, Southland, MVC, or CAA team in the 2nd round depending on who advances. I think they purposely always put the Patriot in the east bracket probably because of travel costs.

Can't be at UNH. They have to travel to UNI.

We got sent to Appy in 2005, but as an at-large... Didn't Gate get Georgia Southern in 98 or so? It can happen but likely not this year due to the power of the CAA. By some miracle, it could be an issue beyond round one or two.

If UNH starts kicking tail, they could get a #1 seed and we could go there. Worked well in '05 ;)
