The only reason I am starting this is because the announcer just said a Maine WR FUBAR'd a Richmond CB on a screen pass. Great clean play. Can't believe the announcer said that though

Richmond up 7-0 though.

First of all, both of these CSN announcers should be fired at halftime. I think they are broadcasting from behind a brick wall.

What happened was the Maine QB ran for 15 yards and they thought he scored a TD, but in fact he was down at the one yard line. You could actually hear the PA announcer say this, but they kept blabbing about how it was a TD. So then on the next play, the QB ran in for a TD, but they thought it was a 2-point conversion and then went to commercial break. In fact, it was a TD and the extra point was kicked while they were at commercial.

Then they came back from commercial and STILL kept talking about what a gutsy call the two-point conversion was! Evidently they didn't see the kicker come onto the field and kick the extra point?

They also acted incredulous on a play where our punter was knocked to the ground and flags flew (they had no idea why), they have mis-identified our running backs, our punter and said that Derek Hatcher is Billy Hatcher's nephew (actually, he's his son). And we're not even at halftime yet.

Eight Legger is correct. Both announcers are terrible. However the so called "color" guy is unbelievably annoying. You will enjoy the game more if you mute the sound. That's what I have finally done.

The color guy is Andy Gresh, who inexplicably has a national radio show either on ESPN or maybe now on XM. He doesn't sound this awful on radio, but he should never be allowed to do TV again.

Wow! great finish to the half by Maine.

QB throwing the ball around... puts together a great drive. Looks like it stalls after a bad snap. Throws a great pass on the fade route for TD with 2 seconds left.

14-10 Maine!

Thanks for the info. He is still annoying as h***. This does explain one thing though. Radio guys are taught not to have any dead air so they never shut up. Good TV guys know when to let the video tell the story.

Is it me, or does Richmond seem to struggle pretty much every game? I know factors go into it, ie, playing on the road, the team they are playing is amped up to play the defending champs, etc..

ItsyBitsySpider

Maine is dominating Richmond but only has a 4 point lead. Richmond is right there and if it's close in the fourth quarter, I know where my money is.

seriously when richmond wins how far will they fall behind elon in LAWdiddy's poll?

On to the game - Richmond is mastering "win ugly." But that's all they need to do. With Towson and Georgetown on the schedule, they've practically clinched a playoff spot. The longest winning streak in Division ! football continues.

I didn't catch it - did Forte get hurt or pulled? Also, Garrett Wilkins' 4th quarter fumble was caused when the Maine defender grabbed his HEAD and bent him over backwards. I hope he's not hurt too badly. This was the SAME Maine player who got flagged for the flagrant face mask on the next drive.

Those announcers were (as previously noted) horrible. From botching the phantom 2-point conversion (and not correcting themselves until over an hour later) to yapping it up over critical replays and referee calls to mangling the names of every Spider on the field. Ugh. It was obvious to everyone watching the game that they didn't give the QB a TD (his elbow was down on the one) and the next play was spotted on the half-yard line. How many 2pt conversions start on the half-yard line? How many 2pt conversions are followed by an extra point kick?

Plus, the play-by-play guy is a Maine alum, who was homering it up all game. If I wanted homer commentators, I'll listen to the radio broadcasts. They shouldn't let him do Maine games.
