Josh Beard:

Georgia Southern

Quarterback- Lee Chapple: Holds the second spot in the SoCon and ranks ninth nationally in passing completions. Chapple tied the second-longest streak in SoCon history with 17 straight completions against Wofford two weeks ago. Chapple finished 25-of-28 in that game.

Running Back- Adam Urbano: Leads Georgia Southern in rushing, averaging 62.5 yards per game for sixth in the SoCon and 66th nationally. His 45-yard touchdown run at UNC was the longest of his career.

Defensive Back- Darrell Pasco: Has 2 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, and 7 defended passes. He is almost always involved when there is a turnover in GSU's favor.

What to Look For

Chattanooga has confidence and winning record for the first time in a long time. They'll be looking to fully legitimize their season hopes by beating Georgia Southern in Statesboro. For Georgia Southern, the playoffs start now and losing at home to Chatty would put a serious wrinkle into the season.

With leading rusher Bryan Fitzgerald out for the game, Chattanooga will probably look to B.J. Coleman to gain most of their offensive production, but running back Chris Awuah will still turn in some good yardage. With a great quarterback looking to wreak havoc, the pressure will be on Georgia Southern's defense to stop the pass. Consistent pressure on B.J. and good coverage on the receivers will be key for the Eagles.

Georgia Southern's offense will need to score points to keep the Eagles in the game. Controlling the tempo and consistently gaining yards will be important for the home team.

These 2 teams come into the game appearing to be pretty evenly matched. Chattanooga has the better record, but they have also played a softer schedule so far. Georgia Southern needs this game in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. Chattanooga is ineligable for the playoffs this year, but still wants to make a mark in the SoCon and put their program in a position to enter the big race in the near future.

After this game, we will know a lot more about these 2 teams and whether they're a legitimate contender for the conference crown.
