Good news for Southeastern. I think Roland is the right man for the job and overcame quite a bit there...
SOUTHEASTERN’S ROLAND EARNS CONTRACT EXTENSION
Southeastern Louisiana University head football coach Dennis Roland has been awarded a one-year contract extension announced Director of Athletics Frank Pergolizzi.
The extension is pending approval by the Board of the University of Louisiana System and will secure Roland as head football coach at Southeastern through the 2009 season.
Roland, who led the Lions to a 4-6 record, overcame a number of hurdles in his first season to post better-than-expected results in the Lions’ first season as a member of the Southland Conference.
“It’s been a season I won’t soon forget for a number of reasons,” remarked Roland. “I’m grateful to Mr. Pergolizzi and Dr. Moffett for showing continued confidence in me, my staff and my team. We will continue to strive for excellence in all we do as we work to bring championship football to Southeastern and the people of south Louisiana.”
