OFFENSIVE
Ryan Perrilloux, QB • Sr., 6-3, 223 • LaPlace, La. • Jacksonville State
Perrilloux scored five touchdowns as Jacksonville State went on the road and topped previously unbeaten Alabama A&M 45-13. He completed 13-of-22 passes for a season-high 293 yards and three touchdowns. That included a 57-yarder to Alan Bonner in the first quarter to put the team up 14-0, a 51-yarder to La’Ray Williams in the third quarter and a 59-yarder to James Wilkerson also in the third frame. In all, Perrilloux completed passes to eight different receivers. In additional, Perrilloux scored the game’s first touchdown on an 11-yard run on Jax State’s first possession and added a one-yard scamper in the second quarter to put his squad up 21-3. He became the first player in Jacksonville State’s Division I history to throw for three touchdowns and run for two in the same game. He has now thrown for 200 yards in his career 10 times, eight of those as a Gamecock. Perrilloux has accomplished that feat in five of his last six games.

Evans intercepted a Lee Sweeney pass and returned it for a 54-yard touchdown with 2:54 to play in the third quarter to give Eastern Kentucky its first lead of the game in a contest they would go on to win 17-7. Evans finished the game with two pass breakups and four tackles. As a defensive unit EKU held Tech to 12-of-30 passing for just 124 yards.

Bonner had 161 all-purpose yards in Jacksonville State’s 45-13 road victory over previously unbeaten Alabama A&M. The highlight of the game was a 64-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the game away. In total Bonner had four punt returns for 94 yards. On offense he also caught a 57-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to put the Gamecocks ahead 14-0. His two touchdowns rank as the first and third longest plays for JSU on the season. Bonner’s 20.80 yard per punt return average ranks fifth nationally on the season.

Christensen, the transfer from Iowa, was 19-of-26 for 292 yards and two touchdowns in helping Eastern Illinois to a 23-14 victory over Southeast Missouri in the Conference opener for both teams. Christensen’s efficiency helped EIU overcome four fumbles inside the Southeast Missouri 25-yard line as the Panthers improved to 3-0 to start the season for the first time since 2001. Christensen also kept several drives alive with his feet, rushing for 30 yards on seven carries and not being sacked. His 177.75 passing efficiency for the season ranks fourth-best nationally.
