How is McNeese State not ahead of App State?

Probably because voters are often idiotic and don't want to drop one team "too" far from where it was the previous week and don't want to raise another team "too" high from the previous week. And this is what happens. When in reality, they should reorder the entire poll each week based on the available evidence at hand...which in this case says McNeese is better than App.

Can we make a rule now that no 0-3 team can be in the top ten?

It's amazing how few voters this poll has

Unless there's a 1st place vote amongst the ORV, I count 27 voters. It's like a bad week in the early days of the AGS Poll...

Its a set amount - 2 from each conference.

How is McNeese State not ahead of App State?

If team A has to be ranked higher than team B because team A beat team B, then it would be impossible to do any kind of ranking.

This poll helps to support my long-standing position that there should be no poll until at least 5 games have been played. This is particularly true when the pre-season polls mean something - as in the BCS poll. Unfortunately, the early polls will not go away. That being said, it is criminal for a team with 2 losses - any team, and regardless of how good the team is that they lost to - to be ranked in the top 10.

I have no problem with it. The best team does not always win the game. It's a long season and, if McNeese really deserves to be ranked higher, that'll come out in the end.

It's kind of like if Washington beats USC next week. Are you going to rank Washington ahead of USC in FBS because of that one outcome?

I'm just glad McNeese ended up with more points in that game. They needed that big time.

Whats up with App? Come on we gotta get it together.

Good thing rankings aren't based solely on defense, or ASU would be about 75th.

Well looking at the poll I almost thought I was looking at the CAA conference standing instead of a national poll.... Look like there won't be alot of easy wins in the CAA this year. SHOCKER!
