Florida State scheduled a rare Friday practice today to prepare for Jacksonville State and Ryan Perriloux cautioning anything can happen like the first week of ACC football, upsets by FCS teams over Virginia and Duke.

Jacksonville State, with Perriloux suspended, lost to Georgia Tech last week 37-17. Jacksonville scored three times on the No. 15 rated FBS team.

Hopefully we catch FSU looking ahead to BYU and up our record to 2-0 against the noles.

Off to Tallahassee, a win sure would make the return trip a lot more pleasant xsmiley_wix

FSU will pick JSU apart and win this one easily, by at least 3 TD's. Bowden won't call the dogs off after losing to Miami.

Will be closer than JSU-GT.

That may have happened if they had won on Monday. It won't happen tonight.

Anyone else notice the FSU - JSU game? 9 - 7 Jacksonville state winning towards the end of the 3rd quarter. Is JSU that good this year or FSU just that bad?

If that is the right score...something is up. FSU is not bad at all (for anyone who watched that game vs. Miami).

No way is J STATE that good...sorry.

The score is correct. There's 11 left in the fourth quarter, still 9-7.

JSU's defense IS that good, but the Seminoles are helping out a lot. Heavy rain throughout the first half put the spell on things, I think.

I expect an FSU touchdown any minute, but this is good while it lasts.

JSU just recovered a fumble as FSU was putting a nice drive together!!!!!!

EDIT: Replay shows the ball was stripped by JSU's Monte Lewis, not just an FSU drop.

Come on JaxSt! We're all rooting for you guys from sea to shining sea in the FCS community!

This would definitely be a marquee win and could be FCS sending another big name coach (Carr was the first) into the sunset!

Five minutes left, JSU fourth & short somewhere around FSU's 40. Called a timeout and looks like they're planning to go for it.

Perrilloux sacked for a loss. FSU looked like they finally woke up on that play.

Knee was down before ball broke the plane, and it looks questionable as to whether he had possession.

Perrilloux fumbles on last possession, returned for a TD. Final 19-9. Thanks for the support guys. That was fun. Doak-Campbell sure looked like a funeral parlor there for a while.

All I could remember was a few years ago when he would always joke that he wanted to play Samford as a tune-up game.

In the end, we choked. I don't care if it was FSU you need to win the game where you outplay your opponent.

We'll see. Remember, when Appalachian State beat Michigan the Mountaineers went on to lose two Southern Conference games and, if I remember correctly, went to the playoffs as an at large. Maybe not but I think maybe Wofford was the automatic bid.

Still quite an effort though. Too bad they can't go to the playoffs if they DO win the OVC.

I though Jax State had this one. When they announced the 4th quarter score at the Liberty Bowl last night, the whole crowd went "oooohhhhh". I was hoping that the Gamecocks would pull it out, great job though guys.xthumbsupx

If we have a letdown this week A&M will beat us. A&M has improved this year.

This was almost an Appy moment. With 35 seconds to go Jacksonville State was ahead 9-7. For a moment, I thought it was going to happen.

Sorry Blueballs, Florida State didn't exactly pick Jax State apart. It was the other way around for a good bit of the game. Ryan Perriloux is as good as any quarterback in the ACC. Poppa Bowden was pacing the sidelines. It rained buckets during this came.

JSU really did make the FCS look good at Doak Cambell stadium. The FSU fans were very humble and couldn't say enough good things about the Gamecocks.

I just got back from the game ( the band spent the night)
What a great game and a great atmosphere.
the fsu fans were pretty good most of the game we had a few drunks next to the band trowing stuff and cussing us but after security escorted them out the fans were great. They were greatful for the win but had nothing but good things to say about the team as well as our band. The coolest thing though is that FSU's band actually played the JSU fight song before the game as a welcome to tallahasse. What a day to be a gamecock even in a loss it was still a great game
