Cal Poly Wide Receiver, Dominique Johnson, who has transferred from UCLA, can play for the Mustangs against Sacramento State and Ohio University. The NCAA had originally ruled that he would have to sit out the first two games of the season, but approved his appeal to play.

Was he just not going to get playing time at UCLA?

If he had stayed at UCLA, he would have gotten plenty of playing time. He played quite a bit in both his freshman and sophomore years, and was a starter in several games. I believe he was UCLA's #3 receiver (in terms of catches and yards gained) last year. His stated reason for transferring was for "family reasons". His reputation is that he is a good citizen and an excellent student (History Major).
