I started to go there too, but I'm not sure how much of an upset this would be (no offense Danes). I think the expectation is that GSU has a legitimate shot at a strong SoCon this year, especially given their performance against the top teams last year as a very young team. I hope it's a well contested game, but my money's on GSU.

I'd like to see Wyoming/ECU/USF all three go down, but maybe that's a bit greedy. xwhistlex

For one-- I said I think CCSU can run over Lehigh. That is CCSU's strength and that is not a slight on Lehigh.

For two-- if you honestly think on opening day, on paper, that lehigh is nearly 2 TD's better than CCSU...you are sucking in some coal engine rail fumes.

AS I have looked at this game over the coming week, I fully expect a hard fought game with no domination, but still, a Lehigh win. Such assumptions always include no turnovers or stupid-azz penalties that take points off the board. I believe we should be favored, and I would be more than pleased with a two touchdown win. I would not be surprised to win by less. 27-19 is now my call.

Actually, the NCAA extended the "Greg Paulus" rule to Steph Curry and granted him a few weeks year of eligibility to play football before the NBA season tips off. #30 will be suiting up at QB, WR, and occasionally CB (to help out on Terrell Hudgins) for Davidson on Saturday night at Elon.xrulesx Apparently Don Nelson and the Warriors are not too happy about Curry's sudden desire for football glory.

Davidson over Elon would be bigger than when Rocky ended the Cold War by defeating Drago in Moscow. As much as I like to daydream about such an upset, I admit that there's not a snowball's chance in hell...but I'm optimistic that we'll put up a respectable fight. Did I mention that neither of our QB's have thrown a pass in a game since high school? God Help Us.

Their lines are sometimes good but change wildly before games and $ can be made. However, Lehigh should be a 10 point favorite so that line shouldn't be a shock.

Our Eagle football is still in the rebuilding stage from the fiasco of the Brian Van Gorder era.. (one year era)...xbawlingxxbawlingx

Anyone who tells you our Eagles will be fantastic this year is full of bull, because I don't think even the coaching staff honestly knows how good a year to expect.

We still have a ton of young players, and expect to play lots of freshmen so, how well we do this season will depend on how quickly, and how well, those young players adapt to the college game.

I DO believe we have potential, because we do have good athletes, but none of us will know until the ball is snapped.

I'm glad our first two games are out of conference as hopefully those two games will give our young players time to season just a bit before SOCON action starts.

I have high hopes, but hey, I'm prejudiced.. :D
