Around FCS: Independents wait for league affiliations

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Chris Hooks, the radio voice of North Carolina Central, joked this summer that the Eagles' Nov. 21 game at home against Savannah State would be for the independent championship.
Such is life among the four remaining independents in FCS, all of whom dream of greener pastures with established conferences in the future and must look for any motivation they can find without the ability to play for a real league title.
