Saw on the Fordham board that QB Lou Ritaccio has transferred to the Rams. Will sit one year and have two years eligibility remaining. Did he play while at UD. If so, how did he perform? Our present QB, John Skelton, has talent but this is his last year. Is Lou a potential replacement?

Thanks

He had a nice game against Towson. He played in the last three games I think. Not sure if he got hurt or benched in the end.

Is this the guy that played like crap or is he the Freshman who was thrown in to the no win situation (don't remember if that one played like crap too)

Ritacco left when it became clear that Devlin was transferring in from Penn St and he really had no chance to win that battle (skill versus skill, Devlin's easily a better QB).

Ritacco was okay as a QB. By the time he got in there the team had pretty much been demoralized by a combination of terrible QB play and some real conservative offensive gameplanning. Ritacco's not terribly quick and his arm strength is nothing to write home about, but he is a competitor and he can make the throws if he has time. Certainly seemed like a good kid who will give you the effort, but he isn't the most talented QB you'll see. He could be effective at Fordham playing in that conference.

You guys still had a defense when Flacco played against Towson the first time. Of course, Flacco did just fine the second time around. Ritacco got to face a Towson team pretty devoid of anything. xwhistlex

Lou is a gamer, pretty competitive kid, but talent-wise he's not going to wow you. He's average at best. UD had problems outside of QB last year but it was the biggest problem. Could he play in the PL, yea maybe he could, but I certainly wouldn't have any kind of wow factor over Lou. I wish him luck.

No. He graduated and left the team.
