Does your team have?

We have 17 5th-year seniors coming back, which seems like an obscene amount for FCS level. We are going to have a serious transition after 2009 and into 2010!

The Tribe has 13 redshirt seniors, and one four year senior on the roster. Nine are starters, along with All-CAA PK Brian Pate.

15 total

2 were medical redshirts and 2 redshirted before transferring to NDSU. Only the kicker is on the four year plan.

It is very rare that a player doesn't redshirt at NDSU.

traditionally The Citadel has very few......the extra year as a Cadet is the reason

Stony Brook has begun to go down that path as well. It's a smart decision, gives players a chance to transition to the SBU system.

To my knowldege only Joe Casey for URI. He might even be a sixth year senior since he received permission to come back for another season after he went down on the first play of the first game last season and was out for the entire year.

That makes a lot of sense. Very few people have rectums that can withstand that sort of punishment.

Cal Poly has a few more 5th yr seniors in both the 2009 and 2010 classes. The above numbers only includes players that had (or will have) played all 5 years at Cal Poly.

Can't tell for sure from some of the sketchy bios on the WSU web site, but it appears that 14 of 21 Weber State players rostered as seniors for the 2009 season will be in their 5th year.

Of 11 seniors I expect to become starters (including special teams), 8 are 5th year seniors. Some of the other seniors may step up to become starters - hard to say at this point.

Actually, a 5th year player at The Citadel gets to live off campus out of uniform at the team's expense while working on his graduate degree. At least that is what Coach Cecchini told my son when he was recruiting him last year.

I gotta think that only applies if they have completed the undergrad degree
