Over the past six months, Liberty Athletics and Daktronics have planned and developed the installation plan for a brand-new video/scoreboard at Williams Stadium, in time for the 2009 season, announced Liberty Athletics Director Jeff Barber.

The video board section, one of the largest in all of FCS football, will be 20 feet tall and 36 feet wide, and will be equipped with HD 16 mm technology. The dimension of the new board is two-and-a-half times the square footage of the leased video board that has been a staple at Williams Stadium the past two seasons. The new video/scoreboard will be located on top of four Jeffersonian pillars behind the north end zone and just in front of the Williams Football Operations Center.

That was my initial thought as well. A little bit of revisionist history, eh?!

The only thing I can possibly come up with is because the picture on the board was from the game against you guys.

The players were all laughing over that score. I have no clue why they put that on there.

Looks sweet. I am hoping Cal Poly joins the 21rst century soon and gets a video board. I hear that they are working hard to get one. Cal Poly's scoreboard is so old that they are not making replacement parts for it.

Looking forward to seeing it in person this year. How does that compare in size to the one at JMU? It looks pretty darn nice.

Very impressive - is this the same sign that was on the flat bed trailer?

The video section of this one will be 2.5 times larger than the temporary one we've had the last two seasons.
