Well in all honesty, we definitely played the tougher SoCon teams at home (except for Furman I guess) this past year and then again in 2010. I'd like to see Elon and Wofford be scheduled for either both home or both away so that Furman and Appalachian State could be the opposite.

It used to be, when there were only three "good" teams in the conference, that each of the big three would get one of the other two at home and one on the road.

Now, with the emergence of these programs, it might be time to look at the schedule again. Last season, Furman played Wofford, App, Elon, and Samford on the road. Pretty heavy road schedule. This season, just the opposite. Very home-friendly schedule for Furman.

I quoted Coach Hatcher in addition to knowing that App, Elon, and Wofford are going to return strong again this year and Samford can also be better. Is that not good enough for you, or what the hell is your problem with a fellow GSU fan?

It could be but you never know. I wore shorts and a tee shirt to the Samford game this past November.

The weather in SE GA that time of year is governed by the timing of passing fronts, if you're on the right side of a front it can be quite warm and pleasant. If you're on the wrong side of the front it can be quite cool, windy and wet- like the Jacksonville St game in 2002.

Slostang, you will get part of your wish next year as McNeese will come to your "HOUSE" in 2010 as scheduled. This of course is barring any natural disaster like the one that caused us not to play last year in Lake Charles (Hurricane IKE).

I can't tell you how disappointed Cowboy fans were when the game with Cal Poly ddn't happen last year. Of course the game cancellation hurt our budget big time also. Most of us thought that the Cal Poly game might actually be a sell out, or at least the largest attended game of the season.

After we go to your "HOUSE" next year, I hope we can work out the return visit to Lake Charles in 2011 or 2012. :)

I was as disappointed as anyone in Lake Charles was. I had the trip all paid for and I was bringing a group of six friends.

From what I have heard, the 2010 game is not going to happen. Instead of coming out in 2010 and having Cal Poly come back in 2011 or 2012, they have canceled the contract. As disappointed that the 2008 game did not happen, I am even more disappointed that McNeese State will not be coming to our house in 2010.

Greyhound is a British proper name. Spelling rules don't apply to proper names because the name isn't describing anything about the named.

Please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greyhound#History

According to Pokorny[35] the English name "greyhound" does not mean "gray dog/hound", but simply "fair dog".

Two can play the wikipedia game:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey

Grey (International and some parts of the U.S.) or gray (Some U.S. only – see spelling differences) describes the tints and shades ranging from black to white. These, including white and black, are known as achromatic colors or neutral colors. In recent years, "neutral colors" had been reclassified. These "new" neutrals have low colorfulness and/or chroma on the color wheel.

Greys are seen commonly in nature and fashion. Grey paints can be created by mixing complementary colors (that is colors directly opposite on the color wheel, e.g. yellow and violet). In the RGB color model used by computer displays, it is created by mixing equal amounts of red, green, and blue light. Images which consist wholly of neutral colors are called monochrome, black-and-white or greyscale.

Game, Set, Match.

Tell you what, I'll give you a chance to win this thing:

find me a legit US publication (newspaper, for example, not a blog or craigslist, etc) that uses the spelling "grey" as an adjective to describe the color of something, NOT as a part or whole of a proper name, and I will conceed.

You claim that some parts of the US do, I claim they don't.

So there you go, get reading.

I hope The American Heritage Dictionary is a good enough reference for you.

I'm still challenging you to find a legit US publication that uses "grey" as an adjective to describe color.

You can't do it, of course, because it doesn't exist.

But I'm sure you'll find some pathetic excuse to back out.

No, it doesn't matter. It has nothing to do with anything related to GSoU's 2009 schedule.

It only relates to the gray facemasks that GSoU wears.

But I know I'm correct and he's just trolling.

Mpls,

Just curious, if you could change the color of GSU's facemask but not any other part of the uniform what color would you make it?

IMO white and navy blue aren't good choices. White just makes the facemask stick out too much and using the same navy blue as the uniform just makes the whole uniform too plain-looking.

I disagree. The only good thing VG did was change the color of the facemasks. We also need to go back to the names on the jerseys.
