What a difference a coach makes.

Three seasons ago under Coach Clawson, Fordham was a playoff team. Two seasons ago, his last year we were 8-3. Then he left for Richmond. The replacement went 5-6 last year, we beat the five weakest opponents on the schedule. This year we are presently 2-8 with losses versus the likes of Georgetown, Duquense & Columbia (who accounted for 3 of the 5 wins the prior year) and a humiliating home loss last week to Lehigh (40-3). We end the season tomorrow at home versus that "powerhouse" Albany.

What a shame, they wrecked this program in two years. :mad: :( :mad:

Coach leaves for a better job and they wrecked things for you? I'd stand by the current coach. Rome wasn't (re)built in a day!

The present coach was the offensive coordinator under Coach Clawson. He and his staff have had the watch for two years and we have seen a wrecking of the program. C'mon, losing to Gtown, Coulmbia & Duquense. Duquense liekly spends maybe 20% what we do. Two years were bad enough and it will take at least that much time to regain respectability in terms of wins & losses. Whoever coaches next year we will likely get whacked again but at least with a new regime we have a chance for improvement.

Yeah, I understand your frustration, but look how many years it took under McCartney to build Colorado; how many it took under McCarney to get Iowa State until the respected ranks. You never know.

Two years is too short a time in football to evaluate a coach. Fordham had a lot of close losses last year. This year is obviously an off year, but didn't Fordham have a good year recruiting?

You have to give a coach four years so that his guys are playing. Otherwise, no one will want to coach for you if one bad year costs the coach his job...
