View Full Version : Quarterfinal times

The ESPNU.com TV schedule lists these times for TV coverage of the games (well, Gameplan, ESPN360, and perhaps regional syndication). So I'm guessing these will be the timeslots for the 4 games:

all times in Eastern Standard
Dec. 6 FCS quarterfinal No. 1 12:00 p.m. ESPN360
Dec. 6 FCS quarterfinal No. 2 2:00 p.m. ESPN360
Dec 6 FCS quarterfinal No. 3 3:30 p.m. ESPN360
Dec. 6 FCS quarterfinal No. 4 7:00 p.m. ESPN360

Who do you think will get what timeslot?

The matchups:
Villanova @ JMU
Weber State @ Montana
Richmond @ App St
UNH @ UNI

I'm guessing that the two later times will go to the games at Montana and UNI, just due to the time zones. Time-wise, Montana getting the 7 pm game makes sense, but having a night game at Wa-Griz would be even colder, so maybe they'll have the late game inside the UNI-Dome, with Montana getting the 3:30 start, which would be 1:30 Montana/Weber time, and 12:30 Cal Poly time.

Richmond at App will be 12noon on ESPN-U while the others are all on ESPN Gameplan.

Possibly, but Montana has hosted late round playoff night games in 2004 and 2006, both covered by ESPN. I do agree that the later two slots will likely fall to the western teams.

Darn...I was really hoping to be able to get to watch the game since I get the U and can't travel with the newborn at home.

I would be surprised if ESPN would bring in lights to WaGriz again. It seems like cheaper options are available in the other games that have stadiums with lights. Griz kickoff at 2pm I'll bet.xnodx

I hope that they are smart enough to move the basketball game so we could have a 7:00 game, last year the 1:00 start just didn't seem right. The basketball game is why we played early.

Montana does not have lights... xeyebrowx
so unless they shovel out butt-loads of cash my guess is a day game

12:00-- Richmond @ ASU

2:00-- Villanova @ JMU (JMU has lights correct?)

3:00-- Weber St @ Montana

7:00-- UNH @ UNI

This is by far the most logical, so we all know this will not happen. It is an NCAA production after all...

no lights at the zoo. so any thing other than a noon start will need lights. its starts getting dark at 4. if its going to be on tv then its a noon start or lights need to be added!

I'm pretty sure it'll be:

12:00 - Richmond @ Appalachian State
2:00 - Weber State @ Montana
3:00 - Villanova @ JMU
7:00 - New Hampshire @ UNI

I figure the Weber-Montana game will start at noon, local time, so 2:00 would make sense.

I would think that the mid west and western games get the earlier times assuming those times are not all eastern.

The 12:00 game would go to Montana and the 2:00 to UNI.

Also available in syndication. Last year many local stations in NC/SC picked up the second round Eastern Washington game.

Yeah but times are set to accommodate ESPN gameplan. I'd rather it not be on TV for entirely selfish reasons but whatever I'll still be there.
