Whether they celebrate with roasted turkey, Tofurkey or turducken, all over America this weekend people give thanks for what they have. Everywhere folks are feasting down on pumpkin pie, candied yams, mashed potatoes and gravy - and, more often than not, lots and lots of football. From high school rivalries to the sad Lions or powerful Cowboys, there’s a lot of football to digest.

For fans of Division I Football Championship Subdivision, the feast continues well into Saturday. Whether you are hoping your team or conference champion advances in the best postseason playoff ever invented - or if you simply want Alabama State, Grambling State or Southern to beat the tar out of their historic rivals - there is no better way to gorge yourself than with the eleven FCS games this weekend.

Finally Chuckles got his picks in! xthumbsupx

"...the Patriot League champion once again bows out in the first round."

Is this a trend that is going to change anytime soon?

Mark Legree has 9 interceptions... not 7.

Probably not. Being surrounded by CAA teams, the PL champion will draw one every year in the first round. The disparity between the two leagues seems to be growing, rather than shrinking.

Speaking of the CAA, after railing on the conference getting 5 teams again in his previous column, Chuck picks all five to win!xthumbsupx

About the same as picking against Montana anymore.

Finally someone picks the Texas State upset.:D Also the TV info about the game is incorrect. It is on Time Warner Cable in San Antonio, Austin, San Marcos, Waco, and Dallas.

Chance of snow showers in Missoula, which may play into things - but I happen to think Texas State has a dynamic enough offense to give the Griz problems. I think many folks sell the Bobcats short.

"But it’s Maine’s triple-option offense which makes this matchup, only the second time the Black Bears and Panthers have ever faced off against each other, extremely interesting. As luck may have it they faced off against Nicholls State this year, who run a similar offense. But will it be enough on short notice?"

We faced it on a Thursday following our biggest rivalry game AT SIU. We actually get another day to prepare, and we should be used to everything except for Maine's wrinkles.

Funny that he has researched enough to learn we faced the triple option, but not enough to notice it was a Thurs ESPNU game.

Funny that he has researched enough to learn we faced the triple option, but not enough to notice it was a Thurs ESPNU game.Kinda trivial, huh? Don't onderstand why that would be worth mentioning in a short preview considering Nicholls is not exactly a playoff team.

The picks by Burton (sans Chuckles this week :( ):

Grambling State 24, Southern 13
Appalachian State 45, South Carolina State 7
Villanova 34, Colgate 14
Richmond 24, Eastern Kentucky 13
New Hampshire 34, Southern Illinois 23
Texas State 34, Montana 31
James Madison 38, Wofford 31
Maine 20, Northern Iowa 13
Weber State 56, Cal Poly 54
(For the year, I was 241-90 in picking games, including a 20-5 showing last week. My regular-season winning percentage was 72.8%.)http://www.championshipsubdivisionnews.com/index.php?blog=5&title=the-csn-way-feasting-on-football&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
