Last Time a #1 Seed Won the Championship?

Does anyone have any information on how #1 seeds have done in the playoffs?

I know that a #1 seed has not made it to the championship game in the last three years.

I also know that in 2004 the winner (JMU) was not the #1 seed, but I am unsure if the loser (Montana) was the #1 seed that year.

My guess is that Delaware was the #1 seed in 2003 and they won that year.

Delaware was the #2 seed in 2003, McNeese was the #1 seed and lost in the first round that year.
