I'm writing a paper on the FCS for one of my classes, and was wondering what percent of FCS teams are located on the East Coast? It seems like a lot. Anyone know, or have a source? Thanks!

There you go. Depends what you define as "east coast."

I think you need to define "East Coast".

Could you not post that map?
It is so large it breaks the browser window.

East of the Mississippi?
If you remove Alabama, Mississippi, Tennesse, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinios, Michigan, Wisconsin, you'd be more geographically correct. Those are hardly East Coast states.

I think he's saying he was going for schools east of the Mississippi, not "east coast." Therefore your answer is 92 or 73.6%

added this year was Bryant, NDak and SDak
so the 2008 number is
92 east
33 west

Plenty of DII and DIII football, though.

Like UNCBears said, there is plenty of great D2 & D3 football. Minnesota and Wisconsin have great D3 conferences in the MIAC and the WIAC.
