I know Brad Smith from Missouri was the first to pass for 2000 and rush for 1000 in a season twice in a career. Don't know about 3000/1000.

He needs 214 rushing in these last two games to make it to 1000 for the regular season-I give him even odds on making it.

Did Barrick Nealy of Texas State accomplish that in 2005?

He would be the only one I would think would even be close to that milestone.

Tebow threw for 3286 and rushed for 895 in last year's Heisman campaign. Are we restricting this to FCS players?

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_Young) Vince Young finished the BCS "national championship" season with over 3000 yards passing and 1000 yards rushing.

No, believe we are looking for any Div 1 (II or III?)player that has had the 3k and 1k combo. I don't believe its happened.

I stand corrected:

Vince Young, 2005
3036 passing, 26TD, 10INT
1050 rushing, 12TD

According to this (http://seminoles.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/051606aaa.html) site he didn't even have 1000 career rushing yards (surprised me too).

Apparently in '93 he set the school record with 3,371 total yards. So could not have had the 3k/1k.

The only Div I QBs as of 2006 that had 2k/1k:

Morehead State's David Dinkins in 1999 (2,011 passing, 1,138 rushing)
Clemson's Woodrow Dantzler in 2001 (2,360 passing, 1,004 rushing)
Missouri's Brad Smith in 2002 (2,333 passing, 1,050 rushing)
Texas' Vince Young last season (3,036 passing, 1,050 rushing).

If AE only needs 214 to make 1000 yds rushing, he shoul dhave that by the 3rd quarter

In Armanti's Bio on www.goasu.com

"as a freshman (2006), became one of only six players in Division I history (FCS or Football Bowl Subdivision — formerly Division I-A) to pass for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in a season"

2000+/1000+ Seasons:
Dinkins, Morehead St. - 1999 (2011 passing, 1138 rushing)
Dantzler, Clemson - 2001 (2360 passing, 1004 rushing)
Smith, Missouri - 2002 (2333 passing, 1029 rushing) *redshirt freshman
Young, Texas - 2005 (3036 passing, 1050 rushing)
Smith, Missouri - 2005 (2304 passing, 1301 rushing)
Edwards, App State - 2006 (2251 passing, 1153 rushing) *true freshman
LeFevour, Cent. Michigan - 2007 (3652 passing, 1122 rushing)

Armanti could tie Smith as the only players to ever accomplish the feat twice

Note: Armanti's wikipedia page incorrectly states that Vince Young was a freshman who accomplished the feat like Armanti.
Dantzler's wikipedia page incorrectly states that he was the first to accomplish the feat in 2001

I think this is the sixth

Morehead State's David Dinkins in 1999 (2,011 passing, 1,138 rushing)

What is impressive is that he was only like 50 passing yards short of doing it back to back to back and he missed a lot of time last year.

Fixed it, thanks!

Yeah he only appeared in 11 games in 07 and went 1948 passing and 1500+ rushing!!

Tracy Ham had 3000/2000 in (I believe) 1986, other than the silly little detail that playoff games were not counted back then.

[EDIT] nm, have the numbers mixed up

Wonder why he is not recognized for it? Has never been mentioned in anything with the others.

I think that Armanti has a pretty good shot at breaking Jayson Foster's single season rushing yards for a QB if he goes on a tear during the playoffs. I'm pretty sure Foster ran for 1860 last year.

However, Foster did it in 11 games...it would still be Sick for Armanti to hit a number like 3500/1500

I'm half shocked it took this long for someone to throw his name out there. He is on pace to do it again this year I believe.

He plays at Central Michigan so almost no one knows about him.

That was his soph year, he is a JR this year

Are we restricting this to FCS players?Well, this is the FCS DISCUSSION BOARD. Discussing anything else should be done on another board. xrulesx
