Extra Point - Week 10 Review: Saturday in Statesboro (http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=/cfoot2/news/AGN3988343.htm)

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Upon setting foot in the parking lot, I realized a trip to Paulson Stadium is unlike any other in I-AA.

Aided by a favorable flight schedule and a few hours of sleep, I ventured into the Paulson parking lot to find the party in full swing at 1 p.m. for a 4 o’clock start. The two hours that followed included countless beverage offers, an oyster shot (not that bad, actually) and conversation with plenty of knowledgeable, yet slightly nervous, Georgia Southern fans.

Fast forward five hours, and the party really gets cranking. A 27-24 Georgia Southern victory put any nerves away and brought out jubilation and expectations of a playoff home game from the Eagle faithful. I received some generous greetings from the GSU fns, especially since my burden of jinxing the Eagles in big games this season had been lifted. The beverages continued to flow, country music blared, and the party went deep into the night. I found Georgia Southern fans to be as well-versed in all things I-AA as any group I’ve met in two seasons, and my nine hours at Paulson Stadium go down as my most exciting trip on the I-AA beat.

What a great time. Note to everyone: Cap'n Cat witnessed the partying actually start early the night before at the stadium!!!!

And, answer me this, GSU fans - how many frickin' times can a guy listen to the same Gretchen Wilson CD?????
