This release just came through via my e-mail. Just does not seem like they have any luck with their head coach's health in Hammond. Best of wishes to Mike Lucas as he goes through this procedure and has a speedy recovery...
HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University football coach Mike Lucas will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2008 season.
Lucas, in his second year as head coach at Southeastern, will soon undergo a heart valve procedure and will miss the final six games for the Lions. Offensive coordinator Tommy Condell has been named acting head coach for the remainder of the 2008 campaign.
“I have total faith in Tommy Condell, my coaching staff and our student-athletes in continuing to build on the foundation of a championship football team,” Lucas said.
