LAKE CHARLES, La. - Saturday was a day Sam Houston State would soon like to forget.
The Bearkats turned the ball over five times and watched a 14-9 lead evaporate in a span of 21 seconds right before the end of the first half, as McNeese State snuck away with a 31-26 victory at Cowboy Stadium.
Leading 14-9 with 31 seconds left in the first half, and with the ball on their own 34, the Bearkats elected to pass instead of kneeling and running out the clock. Things went horribly wrong from there.
