Gosh, I don't think I've started drinking at 9:00 in the morning since college.

Not a long flight at all. And they're already there. Shouldn't hurt a bit. Just hope it's still on TV and I can watch. Gonna have to jumble some plans.

Suspect this will not be the only game moved up or even cancelled along the gulf coast. If they are going to evacuate the reverse lanes they will have to do it Saturday night in order to have time to get everyone inland away from the coast.

They use a 50 hour prior to landfall rule to start the evacuation. That is why Saturday night it is critical to make sure all the fans that have come in for games are long gone so the folks who live there year round can move inland and get out of the way.

That more of the responsibility of the individual people and families. If I lived down in the Bayou and I knew that there was a hurricane coming I wouldn't sit around waiting for the government to show up and say "hey you better leave" I go stay with my family in Texas or whatever...JMO why wait until Saturday?

Yes I do know this. I do suscribe to Draft Magazine. But for a breakfast of champions one really needs the array of condiments that a Bloody Mary includes.

I would imagine this might affect attendance and that the fans may not be quite as rowdy as they would have otherwise been.

The earlier you can play LSU, the better your chances...less time for Cajuns to get drunk...

Which reminds me; the predictions from "Two Daves," a couple SEC fearless forecasters:

Appalachain State @ LSU

Last year, Appalachain State beat Michigan AT Michigan. Heh. This assures me that Lester will make sure his team doesn't overlook them.

LSU's defense won't have much trouble in this one, Tyson Jackson will be all up in the backfield wreaking havoc. The only question is at quarterback. Ryan Perrilleauxooser is gone, leaving a redshirt freshman and a Ivy League transfer to duke it out for the starting position.

LSU 34 - Appalachain State 13

Bubb sez:

If there be any Michigan fans on herre, take note. This game gonna be a clinic on how you handle Appalachian State. Hail to tha victors, and have a GREAT day.

Moving the game to Classic is bull****. This game is bigger than Virginia Tech vs. East Carolina, and definitely MUCH bigger than Syracuse vs. Northwestern. It was originally planned to be their 5:00 Primetime ESPN game, so I can't believe they decided to stick it on Classic instead of bumping VT-ECU or putting it on ESPN 2.

The new time helps App because with a 10:00 start there is very little time to tailgate. This means that a lot of people won't come at all and the ones that do will not be nearly as roudy.

This sucks for the App fans though, half the fun is the day of tailgaiting to get ready for the game, and they won't get to see Tiger Stadium really rockin.

I remember a 11:00 kickoff for Ole Miss back in 97, the crowd noise was not a factor at all.

I know it sux that ESPN moved the game to Classic, but what else would you have them do? The slate of games for this weekend across the ESPN family of networks was set long ago, and the adjusted start time (11 am EST) does not allow for simple switchout because of the overlap it creates.

The original programming on Classic for this time slot was Bassmasters followed by Bowling from 2000. No problem bumping those.

But it does suck.

this thing might just be a good good thing after all for me.....it caused me to buy that Charter Sports package thing that included Classic, and now i get to watch a lot more FCS games and teams that I never could have otherwise, and for about 5 dollars more a month, ill take that anyday.

Got room for a Cowboy fan or two before we head to Kenan?

After my bitching about how the game was moved, I was looking into that very same little deal you found. xthumbsupx

I'm sure you would be greeted warmly by App fans. McNeese will certainly be my second favorite team tomorrow.

Tough break with the weather screwing up people schedules, but I really think Appy fans should feel good about this getting moved up. Gives your boys less time to stew about the game and it leaves everyone at LSU feeling a little upside down. IMO

I agree...this helps the Apps.
