Basically, what we're doing is during freshman week, before the returning students get back on campus, we're having all of the freshmen (3500 of them) come to the stadium for a required event. It starts with the Chancellor's Cook Out with a big cookout for everyone, free food, etc. Then it turns into Freshmen Fan Fest to teach them about our history, etc. We're giving all of them a free red t-shirt (we wear red in the stands), teaching them the fight song, teaching them some of the basic chants/cheers, teaching them about our rivalries, our history, etc. We're also doing promotions where if you can kick a certain amount of field goals you can win a car and some other games. Our chancellor, AD, and football coach are all speaking and then football practice is right after it's over.

Do any other schools have something like this? We're doing it for the first time this year.

That's really cool! We should do it, but include the whole student body (2500 total)

Haha, we brought quite a few in this year so I think we're good there. It would've worked two years ago though.

My club is going to be there helping out. Hopefully I'll get enough footage to make a video out of it.

Great idea!

Just another thing that Georgetown should do, but will likely never do.xbawlingx
