Cal Poly is playing:

8 FCS teams
1 transitional FCS team (South Dakota)
1 FBS team (San Diego State)
1 BCS FBS team (Wisconsin)

Not a lot of room for error if the Mustangs want to make the playoffs.

BTW, I think it is bull***** that a non scholarship FCS team counts toward the 7 FCS wins needed to secure a playoffs spot and transitional team like USD or UND that has 57+ scholarships does not. I bet UND and USD would beat just about any non scholarship FCS team. You can ask UNI what they think of UND. UND beat them when they only had 35 scholarships. Just my two cents.

JMU has 11. 2 bye weeks. With our schedule, we'll need them!

Also, it will make every win that much more important considering playoff selections.

I believe App St. is in the same boat regarding their schedule.
