High School -- Jackson rushed for 1,120 yards and passed for 963 more as a senior quarterback under head coach Andre Johansen at Christian Brothers High in Sacramento last fall. Jackson averaged 8.97 yards per carry, completed 52 percent of his passes and accounted for 28 touchdowns, leading the Falcons to a CIF-Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoff berth. Christian Brothers was 5-6 overall and 3-2 in the Sierra Valley League. Jackson, who had six 100-yard games rushing, also recorded 45 tackles on defense. He earned honorable mention All-Metro honors as selected by the Sacramento Bee and was first-team All-Sierra Valley League, the league’s co-offensive player of the year, MVP of his team, the team’s offensive MVP and last year was a scholar-athlete award winner. As a junior, Jackson rushed for 750 yards and passed for 622 yards, scoring 19 touchdowns; on defense he notched 66 tackles and two interceptions. Jackson, listed on the Who’s Who Amongst American High School Athletes this year, also plays basketball, averaging 9.3 points as a junior. In football a year ago, Jackson rushed for 398 yards and five touchdowns while passing for 378 yards. In track, he qualified for state in 400 and 4-by-400 relay.
