2007 - One of only three players that played as a true freshman for the Mustangs in 2007. Rushed for 257 yards on 43 carries for an average of 6.1 yards per carry. May move to LB in 2008.

High School -- Yocum’s 1,389 yards rushing and 116 tackles helped Canyon High School post a 9-2 record last fall, finishing second in the Century League and qualifying for the CIF-Southern Section playoffs. Yocum averaged 7.9 yards per carry and scored 18 touchdowns while also catching seven passes for 68 yards. On defense he notched three forced fumbles and recovered three fumbles. Yocum was named defensive player of the year in the Century League and earned first-team All-Century League and All-CIF-Southern Section honors as well as second-team All-Orange County. As a junior, Yocum rushed for 1,374 yards (5.8 average per carry) and 13 touchdowns and caught 17 passes for 197 yards and two scores while notching 111 tackles, including one sack, and four interceptions on defense.
