Well SDSU has been working on a new logo for a while now and today they unveiled the new design. Here are 4 versions of the logo.

Clear...heavy lines...high contrast...this is just great. And the Friz Quadrata typeface is perfect here. Classic enough to look engraved in stone, yet intense enough to carry an athletic brand.

Come to think of it, I used that typeface on the Lehigh Football Nation logo. So it's got to be a good choice.

If it were me, I'd swap the uppermost serif on the second "A" in the word "JACKRABBITS," have it facing towards the right, as it is in the "Jacks" logo. It would enhance the symmetry, if ever so slightly.

I think they actually released severeal logos for people to vote on. These are leagues better than all of those logos.

The SD will be on for the upcoming year. Nike changes uniforms every other year i believe and then there will probably be some changes.

Your blue looks to me to be in between the Delaware blue and the McNeese blue. Going with a navy or dark blue would be a mistake if it's not your school color. xtwocentsx

As far as I know, the school colors are not changing. They will be staying yellow and blue (royal). The first picture of the new logo was taken from a banner displaying it in our bookstore/student union area and the lighting caused the blue to be a little deeper (navy) than it was meant to be. I think the latter examples are more true to the colors of our school.

Expect to see the logos in a royal hue with yellow in the future. Also, the stretch SD (on our current helmets, see avatar) will be sticking around for now...and hopefully into the future as I am a fan of it.

Our guys are looking forward to the baseball games. They haven't had a chance to practice outside yet so they may be a little rusty. The Rabbits are picked #2 in the Summit League right behind Oral Roberts.

Even with it being a "secondary" mark, I would like to see the SDSU BB uniforms get rid of "State" as that was a "State or U" internal to South Dakota claim. While part of the NCC, it was known who STATE was, and the other State's were Mankota State (Mankota), St. Cloud St (St. Cloud), and NDSU (Bison).

In football, we are moving into a conference were over 1/2 of the schools are (state name) STATE schools. The interlocking SD works well. I just hope uniforms, if include writing have SDSU, Jacks, Jackrabbits, or something besides "State". xpeacex
