View Full Version : UNH v. Towson

UNH 1999

UNH up 10-0. Towson just had a good goal line stand and held the 'Cats to a field goal.

Towson just completed a 3rd and 10 and is sitting on UNH's 9 yard line... :(

10-7 following the touchdown by Towson.

5 plays, 55 yards, 2:11 seconds on the Towson drive.

Kickoff and UNH is set to begin on their 26 yard line...

I expected this game to be closer than last year's up in Durham but I hope UNH starts to put a bit more distance between the two teams... UNH is only averaging 2.2 yards on the ground... Santos is having a nice game so far... wish I was there.

17-7 UNH! 37 yard touchdown pass from Santos to Jonathan Williams with a minute and change left in the quarter!

UNH takes over at the Towson 42 after a bad punt, still 17-7 UNH

Towson punt is horrid, bounces out at the 42 yard line. Santos had 197 yards passing a few minutes into the second.

UNH cannot run at all today... "essentially nonexistant" according to the announcers...

Santos to Ball, down at the 5 yard line!!!

Hand off to McCoy, get about 2 yards... (almost there)

3rd and goal from the 2, 7:25 to go; T.O. by Towson (prolonging the inevitable)

Nice. Well welcome to the anygivensaturday boards!

I think there are three UNH fans on this board, you, me and UNH Alum in CT...

TOUCHDOWN!!! McCoy from 2 yards out!

24-7. This one _could_ get real ugly.

UNH 3rd and goal on the 2, Towson has been playing the run very well other than the running TD by Santos.

Now McCoy bowls it in from 2 yards for a TD. UNH up 24-7

1:35 and counting, Towson is "threatening"... on 2nd the Tiggers ran it and got NOTHING.

I'd like UNH to go in with a 17 point lead...

I was surprised with the URI result... but the A-10 is going to be pretty unpredictable this year... and yes, I am glad we get them at home.

Stephan Toth is the worst god damned punter in the history of life itself. I swear to god our center could punt better than that worthless piece of junk. He has always sucked, never showed promise, and never had a good punt. Football is a field position game...at least give us a god damn shot here. There has to be someone better there is no way they are all that bad or worse.

Santos is too good. Just too good.

I will now take a day or two hiatus from the boards to gather my thoughts and emotions...this is a pretty heavy blow.

UNH Bobby Simpson 69 yard TD run!!!!! I think this kid is a Freshman.

UNH takes it 62-21

Good offense and defense had some good moments but still gives the opponent too much.

Towson comes down to earth in a hurry joining Coastal Carolina.....at least so far for CC.........

Hope you enjoyed the beat down Tiggers!!!

I honestly thought it would be closer than this. Very good day football wise for me. UNH & FSU win. :)

NO! I have a fear of being #1... it comes from following UNH Hockey... seems like everytime we are #1 some crap team comes along, pays the refs, and steals one from us.

(I.e. Maine) HAHA. :D

I am back. My thoughts on the game...

We are a much better team than last year. Last year UNH was up 31-0 in the first quarter. It was still a 2 or 3 TD game through most of the third quarter. We have definitely improved, but its obvious that we are still not up to par in this league.

UNH is highly underrated I think. They're my new #1. Santos had an off-day against UC-D. He absolutely lit us up. Doesn't help that we have 0 pass rushing, but the kid can flat out play. Same goes for David Ball.

We can't run. I'll chalk it up to line-meshing problems for now (2 starting linemen have been out all season up until that game, including the center). We have some pretty good backs, but when you have nowhere to go...well you have nowhere to go.

I already gave my rant about our joke of a punter. Averaging like 25 yards in this level of competition is absolutely unacceptable...giving UNH the ball on our 40 or 30, etc. is not going to be good news. Lock Haven's punter was leagues above Toth. Get him the hell out of here. I can't watch him play anymore. I wanted to shoot him after he banged out his highlight punt, a colossal 24 yarder that landed at about the 39 (our own).

I won't already give up on this year, I still think we can win a game in the league. We'll see.

UNH is highly underrated I think. They're my new #1.

I also think that New Hampshire should be ranked as #1 in all of I-AA.

Sorry to be late to chime in, but I just got home from my trip to Towson (via an alum friend's house west of Philly). I see rcny46 got accounted for. Don't forget Granite who lurks and occasionally posts. I know one other poster from the AE Forum who lurks over here.

It was interesting listening to the PA announcer warning the Towson fans to arrive early for the Delaware game because they are expecting the largest crowd in history at Johnny Unitas Stadium. Short jaunt down I-95 for the Blue Hen faithful!!

...and because three times the amount of people that show up for the regular games show up for homecoming. Because its a social event. Whats this "football" stuff anyways.

Also, Towson and UD draw from the same pool of people, it is often hard to find people who go to one school and don't have friends that go to the other. Thus, friends will have their friends over. Remember, the Towson game @ UD broke their attendace record last year...

Last year's TU-UD game wasn't near a record crowd. UD "lost" 1,000 seats oin reconfiguration a few years ago. Our largest crowd is 23,619 for a home game vs Temple.

September 19th, 2005, 01:29 PM
