Why is this surprising?

The only thing that surprises me is those SWAC moves aren't listed under Division II. You'd think because a nice part of your fan base on SWACPage refer to FBS as Division I, that FCS was not a part of the division... xnonono2x

Remember, the SWAC is Division I in football. Even if the fans do not realize it, I'm sure the coaches do when they are recruiting! xthumbsupx

FBS (I-A) and FCS (I-AA) are both considered Division I. Look at the list of schools; there are plenty of FCS schools listed there.

Calling this a Division I list is grammatically correct.

Ahh TT, there's alot of fans on all these boards that still refer to our schools as D-1AA and that's my point. So let's not get it twisted

FYI the SWAC was D1 long before most of the conference that are now before they became D1 schools.

Not on this board -- this probably the most "FCS/Div I correct" board on the Internet...we all know the name and most of us on this board have taken it back to our home message boards, where it's starting to become more and more routine...if we call ourselves anything but Div I, we're not helping our coaches on the recruiting front when people use Div II basketball and baseball as our classifications in those sports...

Well, hopefully those "long-standing" Div I fans from the SWAC would actually start referring to their conference as a Div I conference.

I can't believe that 'the band fan' even refers to FBS as 'Div I'. You would think he'd be in a position which he acknowledges that he needs to "champion" the fight for folks to call everything properly by their right name. When I've asked him on it -- I never get an answer.

That's not accurate. You might want to do a search of D1-AA comments.
You'll be surprise what you find obviously.

No surprise there

Looks like Eastern Washington, SMU and Western Carolina are the only three still searching for a coach.

I didn't count teams with an interim coach, but you are correct if they decide not to keep Stewart after the bowl game.
