Looks like our new AD still has some friends over there. Highest payday for Illinois State in our football history.

This news, on top of an impressive showing at Iowa State and an (expected) thumping of Drake may actually have some excitement rejuvinated into a program with flickering pride.

How far a drive is that for the Illinois St folks?

K-State is playing Illinois State? I'm assuming that ISU was their "2nd" choice after they couldn't work things out with Drake!

How much does Ill. State get for the game.

UNI is getting $325,000 for our game in Iowa City Saturday.

Hasn't Kansas State lost to I-AA teams? I think I saw that UNI has beat them 3 times...

Yes, UNI has owned Kansas State!! :) :)

1985: UNI 10, Kansas St. 6
1986: UNI 17, Kansas St. 0
1989: UNI 10, Kansas State 8

We are 3-0 vs. a top team from a BCS conference. Can any other I-AA teams make this claim??

Except for the fact that prior to Snyder's arrival in the late 80's K-State was the worst division 1-A program in the country. They and Northwestern were the equivalent of Army or buffalo now.

Illinois State is always up for the challenge of a I-A, hanging with now #24 Iowa State and last year giving ranked Minnesota a run for their money. No mention of $$$ yet, but Im sure it will be a nice payday for the Redbirds!!! The last 3 seasons we have hung 20+ points on a I-A (22 on Illinois, 21 on Minnesota and 21 on Iowa State). This will be the first ever matchup between Illinois State and Kansas State.

How far a drive is that for the Illinois St folks?

According to Microsofts Streets & Trips '05, Normal, IL to Manhatten, KS is 524 miles which should take 7 hours and 39 minutes!! I would get there a tad faster!!!

Having been to a bowl game vs. Kansas State, you must know they have a very loyal fan base. Tickets for all KSU games are tough to come by.

They love a cupcake pre-conference schedule and I guess that ISU was just perfect for their plans. I guess that is why when they are just a 1-loss team that they end up in the #4 bowl for their conference. No respect or interest outside of Manhattan.

At least (I hope) every KSU fan you meet won't be asking you what state ISU is in. We had plenty of questions about that at the Alamo Bowl in '98.

Gotta agree with my Lehigh friend on this one - during the 80's K-State was the worst IA school in the land - they were putrid. If you lost to K-State during that time I would be shocked. Winning was expected against K-State back then.

If Bill Snyder is looking for another K-State "cupcake," it would be good if ISU gave him some indigestion! :p
