looks like he doesn't include previous year results to start the season this year (which I think he has done in the past), I think I saw a DIII school in the top 10 (all divisions)

Wow, who would've thought there could be a rating system that actually makes Pete's Power Poll look good? So many wasted neurons, the pity.

Note that he says these are the BCS rankings. The rightmost numbers are the 'usual' Massey rankings that have Montana #1, Delaware #2 and St. Peter's #116 instead of #9 (although it's too early even for that ranking)

And North Dakota State #3.

Massey does say that until about the fifth game not all teams are intertwined so the ratings aren't really valid until then (which is why we hold off on the GPI until then).

Then why make the "poll" (and I use the word loosely) public until after the 5th game? I've seen more competency giving vasectomys to mules.

Wow - that is a monster index. Does it have more credibility than the GPI since it uses more sources?

there are some funky rankings used in Masseys rating comparisons (which I look at when I do may AGS poll), however it is so early in the season all ratings won't be real accurate at this point

Just curious, how many of you look at other polls, rankings, ratings, etc when you fill out your poll?

I rarely do,but maybe I'm missing something.

I look at Pete's and Hansen and then do the opposite.
