Well my Penguins prevailed with a big win. The Huskies never got any string of solid drives going. The first 2 scores came off turnovers I beleive and they had 1 drive the entire game that looked good for the TD to the TE-88.

YSU's offense looked Scary..Monq. Gibson rushed for 198 yards and 3 td's. The QB Tom Zetts went 17 for 20 in the first half and finished 21 of 32 for 201 yards and 1 TD.

I mean from the first drive of the game YSU Just shut the door down with long drives. YSU won by driving, YSU held the ball for 38 minutes to NE'S 21. After an NE 2ND HALF Score YSU drove 18 plays in 7 minutes.

YSU really looked tough tonight. Zetts is as good as anyone in I-AA From my standpoint. He is fluent in his game and finds the wide open man.

BEST PLAY OF THE GAME: 4TH Quarter YSU up 28-16 and about to punt on 4th and 2 and run a direct snap to the backup QB Gliatta to the 32 of NE. A 26 yard gain.. That led to a TD...

I am uploading pics I got from the game and they should be on within 30 minutes!

ALSO A NOTE. I talked with a few NE Fans and they seemed very nice. Loved the stadium and atmosphere and I helped them with travel to their hotels. They want us to go to Boston, everyone of them said hope to see you next year.

VERY GREAT FANS! AND WE LOVE TO HAVE YOU AGAIN!

Go Penguins..

TOP 25 ANYONE?

Thanks guys.. This team was scary good. I sat behind some guys who haven't been to a game in 3 years and they were saying how this team is very much like a TRESSEL Team..

GO GUINS!

In front of 14,800...

You could tell they haven't expierenced something like that in there time. Sure around 15K there but boy they got REAL LOUD whenever NE had a 3rd down or YSU was about to score.. It was an electric crowd.. The pics are almost done! You can see the atmosphere.

Well, it was an easy win and could have been much worse .

For the YSU crowd -- My problem with Coach HicCup occured in the 2nd qtr.

Pulls his QB starter after putting NU down 14-0 and has a chance to put them away early and easy. Instead, he violates PeeWee Coaching 101 and pulls the starting QB, puts in the back-up who promptly turns it over inside our 20 yd line and gives an easy TD.

PeeWee 101 FB -- DESTROY YOUR OPPONENT -- then put your back-up in !!

I voted them in my top 20 last week. They move to top 15 with the win. And go 3-0 next week-end.

No Prob Tilldog.

All I ask from you and so many others is to realize this team is FOR REAL and can beat anyone and should be in the TOP 25..

That PITT Game in 2 weeks could show how good they really are.

Well if that is lucky, I cannot explain WKU's squeaker win over EKU tonight!

The Gateway race should be interesting. I think everyone in the conference except Indiana State won today.

We're looking forward to having the Penguins down our way. After a road trip to UConn that we can't forget soon enough, another I-AA team is refreshing.

Sly-- No offense, but you will find that you will not like the YSU team that visits you. To me , its a lop-sided match-up.

But you get better only by playing better teams.

After UConn, just facing a team we can be competitive with is a blessing. I don't think we're going to be quite the pushover you guys think either.

You guys are welcome to come visit our board this week:

NU's defense sucks. Clear and simple. That being said, YSU's running attack just wore us out. Time of possession was 40-20, and YSU converted 17-23 3rd downs and 2-3 4th downs. By the end of the game, NU was beat on defnese physically.

I think a way to beat YSU is to shut down the short passing game. We didn't test their QB's arm strength, but he didn't need to show it as we gave so many 7-17 yard passes that it was ridiculous. I think we blitzed twice all game.

Better team won, no doubt.

Kudos to the YSU fans. INCREDIBLY hospitable. I got to YSU around noon and was walking around the parking lot closest to the stadium and about 4 different YSU tailgates offered me food and drink and we talked football a little at each one.

For the folks in the M-7 lot, you're welcome to our tailgate at Northeastern next year. There was no talking smack, just good natured football talk.

Sly --- you are entitled to think what you wish. Fair warning -- this is a match-up that will truly be potentially ugly at home. And a fair number of YSU fans will be down there . Easy trip for us.

You can give us YOUR assessment after the game and post on here. Just be careful not to put your foot in your mouth. Things are much different at YSU these days.

Dude, we're coming off a 59-0 shellacking. Do you really think anyone in Lynchburg will be running their mouths? But we're hopeful we'll be able to shake off the shellshock and return some of our injured players in time to give you guys a ballgame.

As for your folks heading down to Lynchburg, the more the merrier. If you need suggestions as far as lodging or anything else there are several Liberty posters on here to lend you a hand. Or you can drop by our board. Either way, we're looking forward to the game Saturday.

I'll give you a chance to "make good" on your outlook for the game by posting a YSU-Liberty prediction thread . :D

Feel free to make whatever "prediction" you want. :p :p :p
