Who would you like to see win the National Championship this year besides your own team and why?

Guidelines:

1. Not your team
2. Not in your conference
3. Has a shot at the playoffs

If it's not Montana I'd like it to be UNI. I think they're due and they've been quite impressive this season. Might be their last shot with NDSU moving to the Gateway :p

Also I apologize if this has already been done lately but I missed it...

- Any team that hasn't won one before.

- Any team from an "underdog" conference (i.e., the Patriot, MEAC, or OVC--mostly would overlap with the above, except for EKU).

- Failing either of those, Appalachian State--three in a row would be an awesome accomplishment.

A close runner up would be Fordham cause their fans have shown a lot of class and Ive gained respect for them in their role as "The team that lost to Dayton".

But I gotta go with Delaware State for this reason: When I was a freshman in high school a friend of mine and I did a dynasty (on NCAA Football) where we took the worst team on the game and tried to win a national championship without actually playing the games, just recruiting and simulating. It took us 30 years but we finally got Delaware State the title. Ever since then both him and I have had a soft spot for the Hornets, we even bought DSU tee shirts.

MACNEES!!!!! They are a classy bunch of folks and kind of our western brethren, or at least as close to west as you can get.

I also like Wofford but the Cowboys have been on the national scope longer with some heart breaking losses leading to "no title." And besides, the Southern Conference has won a few titles lately. They don't need any more arguements for "we are the best conference" arguement. hahahaa

I believe EKU won it in 1979 and 1982. That is more than "smelling the throne", but it has been a while. UNI has never won it, although they have a ton of conference championships. McNeese has never won it either.
