OL-Terry
TE-Bergen
WR-Josh Snyder
WRA-Derron Braswell B. Brian Klingerman, for the catch alone.

QB - Mike Cawley (though I'd say Justin Rascati has a good shot of displacing him)
RB - Curtis Keaton (NCAA rushing leader, on A-10 Champ team in 1999)
FB - Not really sure
WR - Gary Clark (of Redskins fame)
WR - Ed Payton (career receptions and yards leader)
TE - Ed Perry (played for the Dolphins)
I have no real clue for the O-Line, though I know Matt Magerko would be on it.

DE - Charles Haley (more Super Bowl rings than any NFL player, starting with 49ers and Cowboys...also first JMU First-Team All-American in 1985)
DT - Dunno
DT - Dunno
DE - Chris Morant (team record holder for sacks)
OLB - Derrick Lloyd (Buchanan winner 2001)
MLB - Derrick Pack
OLB - maybe Trey Townsend
CB - Cortez Thompson
FS -
SS -
CB -
P - I can't remember his name, but he was #40 back on the 1999 team
K - Scott Norwood (yes, he's the guy who missing the field goal in '91 against the Giants to win the Super Bowl)

I could compile a better list, but I can't find a list of JMU's football record holders. I can't recall all the names I've seen in my long history of watching Dukes games. The secondary and the offensive line are my two gaps.

Lehigh Punter - Ben Talbott, I am pretty sure he was All League a few times...was an excellent weapon for Lehigh.

My all decade Griz team

QB - Dave Dickenson, Craig Ochs (third string tossup between Miller & Ah Yat)
RB - Yohance Humphery
FB - Lex Hilliard
OL - Thatcher Szalay
OL - Dylan McFarland
OL - Scott Curry
OL - Matt Theusen
TE - Spencer Frederick, Willie Walden
WR - Matt Wells
WR - Joe Douglass
WR - Jimmy Farris
WR - Etu Molden
WR - Jeremy Watkins
PK - Chris Snyder
P - (tossup: Dallas Neil, Mark Spencer, Tyson Johnson)

Defense is too much of a tossup but I would throw in Jason Crebo, Vince Huntsberger, Trey Young, Tim Bush, Dave DeCoite, and Andy Petek.

My take (I couldn't think of a good enough TE and I don't have enough OL - there are some very good ones, just don't know the names anymore):

Offense:
QB: Andy Hall (Nagy is close though)
RB: Craig Cummings and Germaine Bennett
WR: Eddie Conti and Jamin Elliott
TE: ?
OL: Jason Nerys and ????

Defense (I would put this group up against anyone else's and feel pretty comfortable):

DLine: Shawn Johnson, Tom Parks, Mike Cecere, and Mark Hondru
LB's: Brian Smith, Dan Mulhern, and Ralph D'Angelo
DB: Kenny Bailey, Dorrell Green, Sydney Haughabrook, and Mike Adams

K: Brad Shushman
P: Scott White (he was awesome - but still just a punter!)

I think he played both positions, but after John Johnson graduated Rene was the player they wanted having the most touches. He was a bright spot in (offensively) lean years...

Shalon wasn't a Griz player during the last decade, which this thread is seeking.

Great player, though. You got that right.

How about Craig Melograno (sp?) for punter? I'm not sure of his stats but he sure had a nack for holding onto the ball and drawing the roughing the kicker penalty. Our conversion ratio on 4th and about 30 was unbelievable those couple of years. :) However, he may not have been around after '95

WR-Isaac West(All-time leading WR, Philadelphia FA)
WR-Brian Bratton(Atlanta Falcons FA)
OT-Ben Bainbridge
OT-Josh Moore(former Philadelphia Eagle)
G-Trevor Kruger
G-Marty Priorie

LB-Will Bouton(former Pittsburgh Steelers FA)
LB-William Freeman
CB-Richie Jackson

The three above LBs respresent 3 of the 4 best linebackers(Jeff Blankenship being the other) ever to play at FU. Likewise, Newton and Keith may be the two best safeties to play at Furman.

He was the first. Kaloma Cardwell was a captain last year as a junior and again, this year. An outstanding person as well as potential all-american at safety.
