Quote from Ill. St. Head Coach

“We’re excited to travel to Fargo and introduce ourselves to the Bison and the Fargodome,” Johnson said. “If we’re not presently the stoutest conference in the country, there will be very little argument about it when North Dakota State and South Dakota State join.”

Can we get rid of Indiana State? I guess we should keep them around so after we beat each other up all year we can at least hope that we will always get a W out of them...

so i was playing NCAA 08 recently, and i made a conference of 12 FCS teams...(took out the big 12 teams and replaced them with FCS teams)

North Division
New Hampshire
UMass
UNI
North Dakota State
Montana
Southern Illinois

South Division
Appalachian State
Youngstown State
Illinois State
Western Illinois
Missouri State
James Madison

Playing it wise..im in the 6th season...UNI, Montana and YSU have been in the top 25 every year...

Simulating wise...39 years...UNI has 26 Conference Titles, 9 National Titles
YSU 6 Conference Titles, 3 times ranked #1 in the country, and two National Runner Up finishes

-North Dakota State has never won more than 7 games in a season.
-Appalachian State has never broke the top 25.

I attribute UNIs success to 16 straight years with the top recruiting class:)

You obviously didn't/couldn't factor in the home field for Montana. xlolx xlolx xlolx xlolx I will have to pick up that game. It really does have most of the FCS teams and players? Or is it just names of teams with numbers and no player names?

no play names, but has real towns, stadiums...however if u get x-box 360 does not have FCS...PS2 has rosters from 2005 still on the them.

With North Dakota State, Youngstown State, Southern Illinois, South Dakota State, Illinois State and UNI?

Plus with Western Illinois and Missouri State strengthening their programs. There will be no more competitive conference, especially top to bottom, than the Gateway.

We only have one bad team.

Everybody is always demanding that IND St be kicked out of the conference. It just won't happen as long as they remain in the MVC for all the other sports.

But I wonder if they would be willing to drop scholarships and play in the Pioneer. They would be competitive in this league and they wouldnt lose as much money as they currently do. And they could still keep MVC affiliation by switching over to the PFL.

The Gateway will have to change an ad they run that claims that every league member has been to the playoffs once the Dakotas arrive.

As much as you want to see SIU in the dome every other year. SIU should be switched with IL St to be geographically correct. It also evens out the power in that potential conference.

We'd have to go back to the days when SIU had their own plane to cover all that ground.

Did you just create all those teams, or are they in the game? I thought they took all FCS teams out this year.

Thats why I'm glad we don't have this superconference. Travel is already going to be rough with the distances between schools in the Gateway next year.

Yeah, but they'll only have to put it away for a year xthumbsupx

I don't know how excited I am that we are going into the Gateway. The last 3 weeks have been pretty nerve wracking knowing that each of the games were going to be close for SDSU (Poly, Davis, now UCA). I can't imagine what its going to be like when that is the case for 8 weeks.

7 weeks. You can handle Indiana State.
