The GSU radio guys joked about the announced attendance in boone. Said 33,000, then 46,000...so I dont know what it was.

What was it really?

63,088 at the Metrodome to see the Bison go Gopher hunting.

25,000 or more were Bison fans.

Largest crowd that the NDSU football team has ever played in front of!!!

Also the largest crowd of Bison fans ever to attend a Bison game!!!

We should play all our home games at the Metrodome. We'd get bigger crowds than at the FFD!!

Sadly, you are pretty spot on about the attendance, the "paid" wasn't nearly what was "present".

...I hate to have to even admit it, but when you start your game at Noon and UT-Knoxville vs UA-Tuscaloosa is on at 12:30...well, you just ain't going to get many to show up.

SoCon Attendance...

Furman 28, Chattanooga 22 (5,015)
The Citadel 37, Western Carolina 31 (7,804)
Elon 24, Wofford 13 (8,229)
Georgia Southern 38, Appalachian State 35 (currently n/a)

(home teams...all lost...on the right side)

23,134 on hand to see U of Montana beat Northern Colorado.

About 100 below our average.

Hard to say if it is "fact" or not, but read the lead in this article on Yahoo Sports...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- As the clock ticked toward zero, more than 30,000 North Dakota State fans roared their approval inside the Metrodome.

they never announced the attendance at the app game but my educated guess would be around 28 or 29

it really seemed like a record...

being that our top three were our three home games this season it wasnt hard to remember and it felt like the most crowded game of the year

There's around 10,000 alumni in the Twin Cities, not counting outstate Minnesota. My hometown brought a bus load down, 6.5 hr drive, plus I talked with people the flew in from Oregon and Wyoming. Oh, and a few people made the trip from Fargo.

It looked like more on TV. The Penn side looked pretty packed; both decks.

Very disappointing crowd in Cambridge. I thought they'd break 14,000 for sure. xsmhx Should be a bigger crowd for Dartmouth next week, because the Greenies travel better.

Associated Press said there were 30,000 Bison fans at the Metrodome today.

I don't know about 30,000, but it was at least 25,000 give or take.

The NDSU alumni association lists about 19,000 alumni in Minnesota. I don't know which counties make up the entire Twin Cities metro area, but there are at least 6,000 alumni in the metro area.

It's a sad fact the many college graduates leave North Dakota to find jobs with decent pay.

When the game was over, and the Gopher fans were filing out, all the Bison fans stayed and cheered theie azzes off!! At that point, I could see how many Bison fans were at the game. They were the only ones left sitting in the stands. About 75 percent of the upper deck was full of fans standing and cheering. (I estimate if the UD has 30,000 seats, then there must have been 21-22K in the UD) Then the lower deck had several thousand Bison fans standing and cheering, and the team was celebrating with them, so I would put a guess at between 25-30,000 Bison fans at the game.

If you assume that maybe 12,000 or so of our normal home crowds of 19,000 went to the game (students and casual fans included), and then another 15,000 or so NDSU alums at the game from the TC and other places in the US (The NDSU alum sitting behind me flew in from Dallas, for example), you'd get around what we had in the stands today.

Yeah, but I wish we could get 28,000 at a home game like you guys do... You have some loyal fans in Boone.

(Thank you, Mayor John Lindgren, for lobbying against the Fargodome seating plan of 30,000 back in 1990. You're a dick.)

Too bad we can't count this game for our attendance average for the year...
