Wow, no problem with the correction and putting UNI over Montana, that was probably due, but to drop the Griz all the way to #3 - that's a big step taken by a normally unreactive poll.

Swich Montana and AppState and you've got a pretty accurate poll for this week.

I think this is the best poll of them all this week. Normally AGS is better, but I think this is closer to my list I used in the AGS than the AGS itself.

Its real wierd that Montana is either getting first place votes or 6-10 votes.

It's indicative that most voter are not really paying attention.
Watch as the # of 1st place votes plummets next week.

I think a lot of people are hesitant to change a No. 1 vote unless the No. 1 team actually loses.

But it's now happened twice this year — the FBS AP poll, when LSU leapfrogged USC a couple weeks back, and now in the FCS Sports Network poll.

I never have a problem leapfrogging teams over other teams, especially early in the season.

IMO, conscientious pollsters should be evaluating not only wins/losses, but SOS as well. SOS is more volatile and can change dramatically from week to week early in the season.

It was a good feast for NDSU though...

Good comparison game.

Don't go comparing teams like that. We will get our opportunity to measure UNI vs NDSU next year. When you start comparing oppenents and scores you will find examples like this "WIU beat SDSU in Macomb, we beat SDSU by two touchdowns in Brookings, I guess we will beat Western by two touchdowns as well." As fun as it is to think about things like that we just can't do it. Use this for an example as well, so far in the Gateway InSU has had 69+ on them twice. I will bet you a billion dollars that we (UNI) do not even put up 50.

thats cuz coach F doesn't like to run up the score on teams...we're a nice group of guys...thats why we didn't go for the juggular against SIU (a huge rival) and they came back and almost won.

October 15th, 2007, 10:56 PM
I think UNI will put up 50 against ISU, simply because I don't think ISU can stop our #3's...

#17 WIU vs......#1 UNI

Has a nice ring too it.

I think UMass is the best team though

Congrats, Phoenix/Fightin' Christians!
I remember when I was in like 8th grade and Elon was still DII and came to play JMU. I saw the nickname (Fightin' Christians) and almost pissed myself laughing. I like Phoenix but I think that if your nickname is that ridiculous, you ought to keep it.
