View Full Version : Is a 4-1 Ga. Southern team worthy of top 25?

GSU Eagle

We were somewhere around 28th/29th in the polls last week, so I would think we are somewhere between 22-25 this week.

Very good question. I can't see why not. SDSU is a better team then their record shows. I had you in last week at 23 and SDSU at 25

I don't believe so yet, I believe we have to travel up and upset Elon first...then we can think about a ranking.

Sure, and I think Furman should be back this week too...no thanks to our offense...

Yes, we are. SDSU is a good football team and we earned this one.

I was thinking the same thing App! Who would have ever thought 5 years ago that something like this could be said in a serious light.

BTW, I think GSU is very close to being ranked. It just depends on how the rest of the top 25 figures out.

Yes, we are. SDSU is a good football team and we earned this one.

Even though SDSU is now likely to have a worse record than last year, this year's Rabbit team is better than last year's team.

GSU found the way to win. Yes, GSU, at 4-1 is a top 25 team. 22-25 as indicated in the first post.

Very exciting game Eagles! Wish I had been able to see in person. Paulson is a great stadium. With great tailgating and hanging with crowd, I would have enjoyed.

I think Ga South. is close. But no way should Furman be back in at 2-3.

Maybe when Furman gets to 4-3 they will get back in.

Maybe Ga South replaces the Citadel at no. 25?

The way our defense played in the win over Western, I don't see why GSU won't walk out with a win........

Riddle may be able to tear up GSU's secondary more than GSU is able to tear up Elon's D. This game scares me, and if you go to the GSU MB, you will see a lot of people agree with me.

GSU beats CCU and everyone talks about how bad CCU is and it wasn't a "good win" for GSU. Furman gets their second win of the season over them, in week 6, and they think they should be ranked???? xnutsx xnutsx

Riddle is good, no doubt about that.....but look a little closer at the stats. Elon only managed 23 rushing yards.

It seems our defense has trouble with mobile QBs. Elon's giving up a lot of yards of offense, and a lot of points.

Georgia Southern was just outside of my poll. I haven't started thinking about this week, but I think they'll very be close if not in there. No matter the circumstance, if GSU beats Elon, I won't call it an upset. I'm too old school for that.

Honestly, i'm sick of hearing these post about GSU this season, We have EVERYTHING to prove and at the end of the season our record will do just that. I doubt we will get to the playoffs THIS year, next year, with Billy Lowe, maybe we will be talking playoffs again, I expect to spend this December at home, hope i'm wrong but just being a realist.

The SoCon is rough this year and i'm just along for the ride on this rebuilding year with the amazing coach Mr. Hatcher. We will be back, but for now we've just got time.

You were represented well. The crowd that made the trip were some really good folks. We were all exhausted after that one. You would have enjoyed it.

UCA just whipped #19 Sam Houston now 2-3 with no D1 victories so there should be a few openings for GSU in the top 25 after this weekend.

No way we should be ranked. We lost to Chattanooga at home. Yesterday we were up 31-7 at the half, even though we won, we do not have the killer instinct to put a team away. This also happened against Chatt., not as big a lead but the game was ours for the taking at one point. As another poster said, I don't expect to make the playoff's this year but if Hatcher can find replacements for our senior O-lineman we might make some noise in '08.
