Ignore the absolute rankings of these teams at this point in the season. The mid-major relative rankings to each other are leveling out with Iona still going strong.

La Salle is terrible. They honestly would be better off just shutting the program down. I knew a few kids on the team and when i say they did not take it seriously, i mean it. It was more of a club sport to them than anything else.

I agree. My brother in law played football at LaSalle for 2 years. A 5'10" 210lb three tackle. What a joke.

The one in Philly wasn't good enough to get ranked.

Better off shutting down the program? Are you on drugs? It is exceptionally difficult to start up or bring back a football program today and will remain that way for the foreseeable future! As long as a school has a program, there is hope. Let's assume that LaSalle lands in a stable PFL next year. There is every reason to believe that a stable league, with a long term commitment to the non-scholarship model, will benefit the LaSalle program greatly. MAYBE, the school will even think about more resources for football....

Shut a program down? Talk about reactionary, short term thinking....xmadx

Is the attitude because Richmond is ranked higher than Albany?

No because IONA is...laughable...at best.

No because IONA is...laughable...at best.

True.

But Iona won't be 2-0 forever against FCS competition. The season isn't 5-6 weeks long.

I think the Bradley-Terry system is the best that is available if the rules are the scoring margin/point spread from games played cannot be used. The system isn't biased from prior years either.

What should be the procedure used if subjective voting is not allowed?

Personally, I find the early season results intriguing with inadequate comparisons available.

Will you feel the same way in November when there will be adequate game comparisons available to push teams up and down, with scoring margins thrown out to preserve sportsmanship? Will the subjective systems blowup in November when a system is needed the most to select playoff teams?

Boring

How would that be boring? The BCS has adopted an objective/computerized selection system that is light on voting. The athletic directors should agree on a system and go with it.

Albany would not qualify this year for the FCS playoffs anyway I would think.

I can picture someone like Mark May (evil) and coach Holtz (good) going at it on ESPN to get a system in place for the FCS category as well.
